How to prepare for a CI Interview (Manager, Specialist, Leader, Engineer)

These are the most critical tips to keep in mind when you prepare:

1. Experience and Projects:

   • Share specific experiences in continuous improvement, detailing teams and projects.
   • Emphasize learnings, challenges, and enjoyable aspects of your continuous improvement work.
   • Highlight tangible results achieved in improving processes and sustaining those improvements.

2. Leadership Skills for Managerial Roles:

   • For managerial or coordinator roles, showcase the ability to lead CI teams and coordinate improvement roadmaps.
   • Illustrate experience in leading improvement initiatives, Kaizen events, and achieving sustained results.
   • Demonstrate the capacity to lead teams, even without hierarchical control, and organize improvement pipelines.

3. Flexibility and Adaptation:

   • Emphasize the balance between flexibility and challenging the organization's current practices.
   • Be adaptable to the company's approach to continuous improvement, even if it deviates from your preferred method.
   • Focus on creating a continuous and stable improvement culture within the organization.

4. Critical Skills for CI Roles:

   • Highlight two essential skill categories: strong analytical capabilities and effective change management.
   • Showcase expertise in analyzing data, setting up dashboards, and using statistical methods (Six Sigma).
   • Stress the ability to influence and lead people toward adopting new standards and ways of working.
